Valdese Weavers has been manufacturing textiles in Valdese, North Carolina since 1935 and is the third largest textile mill in the world. Valdese is known for their top notch design team and ability to mass customize fabrics. Valdese launched Sustain Performance Fabrics in 2014 to create a beautiful line of textiles that were on trend, cleanable, a minimal environmental impact and much more!
Sustain Performance Fabrics are made of solution-dyed polypropylene (also known as olefin). Polypropylene is a great fiber choice for a fabric that requires a high level of cleanability and durability.
Instead of becoming waste in our landfills, polypropylene, which is a byproduct of oil refining and natural gas processing, is upcycled into a durable and moisture resistant yarn at the foundation of Sustain Performance Fabrics.
